The 2020 MLB odds to win the National League West are the most separated of any division in baseball as the Los Angeles Dodgers have won the NL West in seven consecutive seasons.

Most bookmakers expect the Dodgers to have similar success in the NL West this season.

The Dodgers aren’t just favored in the National League West, they’re also favored on FanDuel to win the National League at +200.

The acquisition of Mookie Betts to pair with reigning NL MVP Cody Bellinger makes this the best lineup in the NL West. A pair of former MVP winners, to go with veteran bats Max Muncy, Justin Turner and Corey Seager, are going to give teams problems.

The pitching for the Dodgers isn’t too shabby either with Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler holding it down. The Dodgers did lose Hyun-Jin Ryu and Kenta Maeda this offseason but have plenty of interesting young arms like Julio Urias and Dustin May who could make impacts.

The Dodgers also acquired former Cy Young winner David Price in the Betts deal with the Boston Red Sox. Price is not the pitcher he was in his prime but should still provide quality innings.

Likely the biggest competitor to the Dodgers this season in the NL West is the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks shed payroll in deals trading All-Stars Paul Goldschmidt and Zack Greinke over the last year but have invested most of that money back into the team this winter by signing long-time San Francisco Giants ace Madison Bumgarner and by trading for outfielder Starling Marte.

The Diamondbacks have interesting young arms in Zac Gallen and Luke Weaver, plus a solid lineup, but they don’t look to have the same firepower on either side of the ball as the Dodgers.

While the Diamondbacks to win the NL West at +950 is intriguing with our 2020 MLB odds, it would take a massive amount of injuries to slow the Dodgers down.

The San Diego Padres have one of the best farm systems in all of MLB, with the kids starting to get called up to the major leagues.

Fernando Tatis Jr. had a superb rookie season and may have made the Rookie of the Year race close with Pete Alonso if he didn’t sustain a back injury in late August.

Tatis is now healthy and is part of one of the best left sides of the infield in MLB with third baseman Manny Machado.

The Padres also benefited from the debut of right-handed pitcher Chris Paddack, who shouldn’t have to deal with an innings limit again during the 2020 MLB season.

With more prospects on the way, the Padres should be a fun, exciting team. Their time competing with the Dodgers is coming but it may be too soon to consider the Padres with our 2020 MLB odds.

The Colorado Rockies’ offseason involved signing just one free agent, right-hander Jose Mujica to a major league contract.

Mujica has never pitched in the big leagues, so you can imagine the disappointment amongst Rockies fans that after going 71-91 last season, this pitcher was Colorado’s only major league offseason addition.

Nobody was more disappointed with this than star third baseman Nolan Arenado. Arenado was disappointed with GM Jeff Bridich and a trade within the next two seasons feels inevitable with an opt-out clause in Arenado’s deal after the 2021 season.

The Rockies seem to be a team that is going nowhere fast so let's forget about them when it comes to our 2020 MLB odds.

The San Francisco Giants might end up as the worst team in the National League, hosting several overpaid veterans well past their prime. The group of Evan Longoria, Johnny Cueto, Brandon Crawford, Brandon Belt and Buster Posey didn’t live up to what has been on the back of their baseball cards in 2019.

As age continues to creep up, the Giants seem to be waiting for bad contracts to expire as they welcome in the next wave of young players with the hopes of more World Series championships.

2020 MLB Predictions: Dodgers win the NL West

The Dodgers are absolutely loaded in one of the weaker divisions in all of baseball. The NL West isn’t their goal, the 2020 World Series is but I’d be shocked if the Dodgers didn’t take home the NL West crown for the eighth consecutive season.
