It’s NBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago, which starts off with the 2020 NBA Rising Stars Challenge game. Let’s take a closer look at this Friday NBA All-Star event with our Rising Stars Challenge predictions.

Just looking at roster construction, Team USA looks significantly better than Team World. Led by Trae Young, Ja Morant and Zion Williamson, Team USA is loaded.

*-injured, will not play
The thought of seeing Morant throw lobs to Williamson all night makes this game worth watching just for that reason.
Team World has Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander but not much else that really stands out.
Of course, now that I say that, Team World players Rui Hachimura or RJ Barrett is going off for 35 points. Nevertheless, let’s still go with Team USA here with their star power, in addition to their strong shooting talent.
The Team World vs. Team USA format is going on its sixth year of existence.
In that time, Team World has taken three of the first five matchups. With that said, that doesn’t matter much for our Rising Stars Challenge predictions, as these rosters change significantly every NBA All-Star Weekend.
There is never much defense played in this event and this year’s 2020 Rising Stars Challenge should be no different.
Last year, the game ended with Team USA winning 161-144, and I expect a similar outcome in the 2020 Rising Stars Challenge. Even though the game is shorter than a normal NBA game, with two 20-minute halves instead of four 12-minute quarters, I still think the over should be considered with our Rising Stars NBA predictions. Let’s go with over 298.5 total points with Team USA covering the point spread in an entertaining game.
Rising Stars Challenge predictions: Team USA (-4.5), over 298.5 total points
