The Jets entered the spring in dire need of an offensive line rehaul after finishing with just 78.6 rushing yards per game last season (second fewest in the NFL)and struggling to keep Darnold’s pocket clean.

The Jets have added plenty of offensive linemen this offseason in free agency, including three potential starters. Yet, the Jets NFL Draft odds think an offensive lineman with the No. 11 pick is still very possible. Four of the top six players on the Jets NFL Draft odds are linemen.

The Jets could still use a stud lineman but have other needs that may be more pressing after their free-agent spending.

The Jets are one of the few teams in the NFL to have poor luck drafting out of the University of Alabama in recent years.

The Jets took defensive end Quinnen Williams third overall out of Alabama in the 2019 NFL Draft. It’s way too early to call him a draft bust, but he didn’t make much of an impact in his rookie season.

The Jets also took cornerback Dee Milliner with the ninth pick in the 2013 draft out of Alabama, who didn’t even finish his rookie contract before leaving the NFL.

All that pain shouldn’t stop the Jets from going back to the Alabama well. Gang Green should take Jerry Jeudy (+300) with the No. 11 overall pick. The Jets have already helped their offensive line while also keeping running back Le’Veon Bell around. The big missing piece on offense is a game-breaking wide receiver.

The Jets’ only playmaker the last few seasons has been wide receiver Robby Anderson. Anderson was hopeful to return to the Jets but signed a two-year deal with the Carolina Panthers.

Even if Anderson had returned, the thought of having Darnold under center with Anderson on one side of the field and Jeudy on the other should have appealed to general manager Joe Douglas.

The wide receiver is an exceptional route runner and with Anderson gone is a dire need for the Jets.

Jeudy’s teammate, Henry Ruggs (+1100), also makes sense, but with the No. 11 pick, the Jets have a great chance at picking at the top of the wide receiver class and Jeudy makes too much sense not to consider.
